Now we're home, our journey is done...

Actually the journey is just beginning...we are finally over the jet lag, our bags are unpacked and Kasey has decided that dad is great and Tony is really soft (poor Tony!)
In my very first post I said we didn't know what God's plan for our family would be but we knew once He revealed His plan it would be amazing, boy was I right about that. Kasey is so perfect for our family and such a sweet baby. We are so lucky to have our 2 beautiful daughters.
This will be my final blog entry so our family would like to thank everyone for following us on our journey to bring Kasey home! We would also like to thank my mom, Sheila, for traveling with me to China for a second time.

Goodbye China!
Well this is it, the bags are packed and we are ready to go. We wake up at 4:45 am China time, check out, eat breakfast and head to the airport. Next stop Atlanta!!!
Today we celebrated our final day here by visiting the Guangzhou Zoo in the morning. We saw the pandas but Kendall was not interested in anything but the Zebras...what a surprise! Then we went to the US Consulate for our swearing in ceremony in the afternoon. Which just means that now Kasey has the visa in her passport that she needs to come home.
See you all tomorrow!

Our day in Guangzhou
Big news from Kendall: she has a loose tooth! I think she has told everyone in China by now. I guess the tooth fairy should get ready.
Besides that we just hung out and had a quiet day at our hotel. We fed the fish in the pond here (they are huge!) walked around the little shops and played in the Mattel playroom here in the hotel. Kasey loved the fish but wasn't crazy about the birds in the cage in the lobby. I wonder how she is going to like Tony? He out weighs her by about 10 lbs!
She still smiles all the time...I am afraid daddy is going to be in trouble because she is going to have him wrapped around her tiny little finger with one sweet smile!
Our guide got the final approval from the US consulate so tomorrow afternoon we will go there to take the oath then we leave for the airport Thursday morning at 6:40 am China time (6:40 wed night Atlanta time) so we will see you all very soon.

Sight seeing in Guangzhou
Today we went sightseeing in Guangzhou. During the tour we went to a folk art museum, The Old Chen house, it is located inside of an ancient family temple for the Chen Family. It showcased very intricate jade carvings and beautiful embroidery. Its a very beautiful building made out of mahogany and limestone all centered around a courtyard filled with Banyan trees. Its a very traditional Chinese building. Then we went to the provincial arts and crafts center where they make and sell Chinese porcelain, art, silks and jade.
Then late this afternoon we went in for Kasey's medical exam (which the babies need to apply for their visa's in the morning), she did not like it one bit! Its funny because all the doctor did was weigh and measure her and look in her ears/nose/throat and it took 10 minutes...so traumatic!
After that we had an early dinner at an "American" restaurant called Lucy's. Kendall had spaghetti, which is a good change from the steamed rice with soy sauce she has eaten for lunch and dinner every day since we arrived! Tomorrow our visa applications will be processed so that we can leave on Thursday morning...we can't wait.

We've arrived in Guangzhou!
Kasey did really great on her first plane ride. She loved watching everything that was going on around her. Once we arrived we checked into the White Swan hotel which is the same one we stayed at last time we were here so its very familiar. After check in we got the babies visa photo made and then went out for a group dinner at a local Thai restaurant. I discovered that Kendall loves Thai food. In the morning we are going to take a tour of Guangzhou and in the afternoon take the babies for the medical exam they will need when we apply for their visa's on Tuesday.
We have alot of fun planned activities while we are here and there are a couple of parks here and lots of cute shops and restaurants. The hotel is located on an island next to the Pearl river. Its a very walkable place so there will be lots for the kids to do here. Kendall has really liked exploring this afternoon.
